She also provides psychological testing and educational evaluations for the school systems.

A. Dr. Macari offers both in person and virtual sessions. Her office is located in the Americana Manhasset at 2110 Northern Boulevard, conveniently located near the Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway. When therapeutically appropriate, Dr. Macari will also conduct out-of-office sessions or in-home sessions.

A. Medication can be essential in the treatment of some mental illnesses. If medication is deemed necessary, Dr. Macari will refer you to one of the many psychiatrists she trusts for a medication evaluation.

Dr. Macari recommends that you find a licensed psychologist who holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and who is trained in cognitive-behavior therapy. Dr. Macari is a psychologist licensed in New York and an out-of-state telehealth provider for Florida (https://flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/). However, there are some instances where Dr. Macari can provide telehealth services in other states if permitted by the law. Please contact her with your specific needs.
Assessment FAQs
A: Dr. Macari conducts extensive assessment services to clients of all ages. These assessments can be conducted as part of the therapy process or for those who are seeking an evaluation (e.g., psychoeducational testing) only. These comprehensive evaluations are used to identify child and adult ADHD, specific learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia), giftedness and twice exceptionality (“2E”), an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, clinical disorders, and personality traits and disorders.
A: Comprehensive assessments are highly customized. Typically, comprehensive assessments will include instruments that assess intelligence, achievement, personality, social-emotional and psychological functioning, memory, and executive functioning. Often parents and teachers are asked to participate in the process so to gain additional information on how the child functions at home and in school.
